Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
ICSI differs from conventional IVF in that, the embryologist selects a single sperm under 40X magnification microscope and using micro manipulator injects it directly into an egg.
Common Indications: OAT, unexplained infertility, previous failed fertilization in IVF, sperms obtained from TESA (Testicular Sperm aspiration) or PESA (Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration) procedures. In both IVF & ICSI the Sperms & eggs can be from the couple or from the donor.
